Mission Statement

The Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre (NBDT) is a professional modern dance company dedicated to producing and presenting dynamic performances and innovative educational programs that deepen the community’s understanding and appreciation of contemporary dance.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that dance is a powerful tool for imagination, self-expression, and human connection. Through concert performances, touring productions, and educational outreach, we strive to inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

As the flagship company of the South Coast Dance Arts Alliance (SCDAA), NBDT receives vital support in operations, artistic development, and outreach efforts. SCDAA's mission is to expand access to quality dance experiences and foster creativity and confidence—particularly among at-risk youth—through arts education both during and after school.

Together, NBDT and SCDAA are committed to building a vibrant cultural presence, using dance as a means to uplift, engage, and transform communities.
